I made this artwork mainly because i liked what the picture was based off and wanted to make something it. The easiest part about this project was getting the rough sketch fro the design because i wanted the helmet to look like it was used and then just left. the hardest part was getting the detail and some of the detail from the actual picture i didn't use because I didn't want the picture to look exactly the same. What surprised me was that i didn't expect it to be as hard as it was for me to add in small details like the little cuts and scratches because i didn't wasn't them to be too close and if i had too many it wouldn't look as if the person who wore the helmet was actually fighting, just cutting into the helmet.
The easiest part of this project would've been transferring the sketch onto the paper i was going use for my final draft. The hardest part for me was outlining the word in ink because some lines weren't straight so some lines ended up darker or thicker than others. It surprised me on how much harder to outline the word because i didn't expect it to end up with some lines thicker than others. The hardest thing about this project has trying to aline the picture correctly. The easiest part was trying to add detail, since the picture is supposed to be a Phoenix the way i drew the picture made it look like it has more flaming than smooth. it surprised me on how the picture turned out because I didn't expect it to turn out as well as it did. One thing i learned from this was it doesn't always have to turn out as planned. It thought the hardest part of this project for me was trying to get the prints because not all of them came out how they where we supposed to be. the easiest project was creating a design because i knew what i was going to create almost immediately. It surprised me on how easy it was to carve on the linoleum block since i expected it to be a lot harder. I learned how simple it could be to make printmaking. What was your main take away from Nicky's family? I thought that it was to show how anybody can make a difference no matter how you are like what Nicky did. |
